How To Convert Videos Using Freemake

Freemake is one of the best free downloadable video converters that I have explored recently. In this post, I am going to post a short tutorial on how to convert videos from one format to another in just 5 steps.

This will be useful to teachers who use videos and screencasts in teaching mathematics as well as other subjects.  Note also that aside from video to video conversion, Freemake can also convert videos to audio format (e.g. MKV to MP3).

How to Convert Videos Using Freemake

1. Open the Freemake Video Converter.

2. Click the Video button located at the upper left corner of the window to display the Open dialog box.

3. In the dialog box, search for the video you want to convert and then double click it.

4. Choose the video format at the bottom of the window that you want your video to be converted to . You can click the arrow on the sides to display more formats.

5. Select the preset and the directory you want the converted video to be saved, click the Convert button, and then wait for the conversion to finish.

Freemake is capable of converting videos the following video formats:  AVI, WMV, DVD, MPEG MP4, 3GP, MKV, FLV, FLV, SWF, Blu-ray, Sony Playstation, Xbox, Samsung and Android. It can also be converted to  Samsung and Apple formats.  It also supports Nokia and Blackberry phone video formats.
