New Blog: Mathematical Palette

I will be away for three days for a teacher training in Nueva Ecija, a province about a hundred kilometers from Metro Manila, so your inbox will be quiet for about three to four days. :-) However, before the long “vacation,” I would like to shamelessly promote the Mathematical Palette – my new blog.  Yes, my new blog!

The Mathematical Palette is not about school mathematics, but rather a blog about math appreciation. In that blog, I will be discussing the connection between mathematics and other fields such as the arts, music, poetry, and other sciences.  I will also highlight the beauty and practical uses of mathematics (see Mathematical Palette: An Introduction for more details).

The first post titled Points, Pixels, and Pointillism is already live. I hope it would give you an idea of what I’m going to discuss in future posts. The site is still under construction (almost finished though), and I am very excited about it.  I have several titles already queued, and I am going to  write about them this coming weekend.

I hope that you will support and share about this new blog as you have supported Math and Multimedia.

Math and Multimedia turns 2

First, I’m happy to announce that Math and Multimedia turns 2 today, the World Teachers Day.  This endeavor started two years ago as a blog (for my eyes only), which was supposed to be mathematical problems and solutions.

Today, it has grown quite a lot with 487 posts and 1132 email, RSS, Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ subscribers/followers. It has also reached more than 510 000 hits (WordPress Stat),  averaging  21 000  unique visitors (Google Analytics) and  50 000 hits a month (WordPress Stat). Continue reading

SOF has a new URL; Math and Multimedia to a new server

To evaluate blogging outside WordPress.com, I have transferred School of Freebies to a new server and a new URL. I also plan to move Math and Multimedia to a new server by June or July this year.

After the transfer, email subscribers will still be receiving blog posts notifications. I will move your email myself to the new database.  However, those who are subscribed to the original RSS feed and those who subscribed via their Wordpess.com blog or their Dashboard, you will  no longer receive updates after the transfer. This is because the original RSS feed will automatically change once the blog has been transferred, and the new address will no longer be on Wordress.com.

So, if you are still using the old feed or subscribed via your blog, please update your feeds to  http://feeds.feedburner.com/MathematicsAndMultimedia  or subscribe by email (see right side bar) . This will  ensure that you will still receive feeds and post notifications via email after the transfer.

I will be spending quite much for the guided transfer, so if  this blog has helped you, and you want to donate, it will be very much appreciated.

Please make some donations

Thank you very much for following Math and Multimedia.
