Exploring the Universe with Worldwide Telescope

If you have enjoyed exploring Earth with Google Earth and the stars with Stellarium, another stunning program  that you should see is the Worldwide Telescope.  WorldWide Telescope (WWT) enables your computer to function as a virtual telescope, bringing together imagery from the best ground and space-based telescopes in the world. The images are taken from the Hubble Space Telescope, NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope, the Chandra X-Ray Observatory Center, and other ground and space telescopes.

Worldwide Telescope was created by Microsoft Corporation and is downloadable for free.
Math Application*

With the  rich data provided by World Wide Telescope, mathematics teachers can use it as context for a lot of problems particularly on large numbers and trigonometry.  Of course it is also a very good software for studying  elementary astronomy.
