This puzzle has been circulating on Facebook recently. The question is, how many squares are there in the figure?

I’m planning to post my solution later, so please watch out.

32 squares

1×1 (smallest) = 8

1X1 (small) = 18

2X2 = 9

3X3 = 4

4X4 = 1

is there a specific formula for this one ? :))

I simplified this, take the two extra squares out (the ones with 5 each) and then solve the rest. That is 10 and then solve the rest of the 4×4 blocks.

@arianne mikaela I don’t think there is.
