Please Report Any Post Bug

After I updated Math and Multimedia to WordPress 3.5, I found several of my posts contain the boxed code error below. I found a way to fix this error, however, I have to go to the post individually and make necessary changes.

Introduction to Geometric Construction

In Geometry, the term construction refers to a precise way of drawing using two tools, an unmarked straightedge and a compass. The straightedge is assumed to have an infinite length and has no markings.  In constructions, these tools and only these tools must be used to construct lines, curves, and polygons.  Shown below is an animation showing  how to construct a square using compass and straightedge.

The Construction Rules

In construction, aside from the tools, there are specific rules to be followed. These rules are the following.  » Read more

15 Flash Video Tutorials for Learning Winplot

In September last year, I shared to you about the Peanut Software Package, a mathematics software collection by Philip Exeter University. One of the software in the collection is Winplot, a powerful graphing software capable of drawing and animating curves and surfaces. If you want to learn about Winplot, I discovered a collection of flash video tutorials here.

The tutorials includes basic graphing, finding critical points of graphs of functions, inequalities, piecewaise functions, plotting trigonometric functions, polynomial regressions and integration.

Winplot is free and available on Windows operating systems. It has also a 3D graphing capability as shown above.
