In addition to the list of more than 5000 free mathematics and physics videos and tutorials I shared last year, you may want to add the Vi Hart‘s Math Channel in Youtube. Vi Hart has created recreational math videos and mathematical doodles in fast-paced narration. The channel has more than 200,000 subscribers and has been viewed more than 16 million times as of this writing.
The math video above is the part 1 of 3 of the Fibonacci sequence and Spirals series.
Vi Hart calls herself a recreational mathemusician. She was born Victoria Hart, a music major who is passionate about mathematics. She is currently working at the Khan Academy but continues to maintain her own video blog.
If you have read my article on Counting the Real Numbers, and enjoyed it, you should watch the incredible 7-minute TED video below, a more comprehensive explanation about that topic. It explains the cardinality of rational and irrational numbers and the continuum hypothesis. A must view for mathematics students and enthusiasts.
GeoGebra for the iPad is one of the newest projects of the International GeoGebra Institute. As the name implies, the plan is to create a real iPad Application (an HTML5 version is already available). If this project pushes through, it will be available for download for free at the Apple Store.
We at GeoGebra need your help to raise $10,000 for the project before October 19, 2012 . For more information about the project, and for your donation, click here.
